Some have highlighted that the article "Methadone Madness" on page 4 of this edition gives a bad impression of methadone users and is one sided. It has also been mentioned that Subutex is not necessarily a better or less harmful intervention in all cases! |
Many thanks for your comments on this article. We do enjoy sparking debate.
Upon reflection the article can be perceived as one sided, but BADSUF stand by the overall tenor of the article that there should be more choice for drug treatment in prisons.
BADSUF believe that methadone prescribing will remain an essential feature here in Bournemouth, and that other treatment options will merely complement this existing excellent service. We apologise if the article seemed biased in any way and it was not our intention to exclude, degrade or victimise methadone script users. We are planning to write a fuller and fairer article in our next edition. Comments welcome.
