BADSUF Advocacy Training Course Part 1

BADSUF are able to deliver training courses on a variety of topics within their areas of expertise. Advocacy part 1 is a course that has been specially designed for forum managers or coordinator, potential advocates and others who are interested in establishing an advocacy service.

The Course consists of several units:

- Who are BADSUF.
- What is Advocacy?
- Exploring Advocacy ethos - Advocacy in practice.
- Are you ready to run an advocacy service.
- An Advocates skills.
- Recruiting your advocate.
- Advocacy tasks.
- Monitoring your service.
- Advocacy workshop - Discussions.

The course is designed to equip the delegates with a broad understanding of what it takes to establish a good advocacy service. They will be able to rely on a range of supporting materials on the course and refer to this page thereafter to begin implementing their own Advocacy project.

If you are coming on the course, we wouldn't recommend that you look at any of these prior to attending, as they may detract from the learning experience. Additionally some of the documents may not make sense outside the context of the course - so you will need to have their significance explained to you.
